Easy-Gaited Horses by Lee Ziegler  (When you click on the link, scroll down for information on the book.)  This book focuses on the mechanics of the different types of gaits of gaited horse breeds and how to work with the different gaits.  There are wonderful drawings and lesson plans to help you get the most out of your gaited horse.  All of Lee’s methods are gimmick-free and easy to understand and put to good use.

 

The Fabulous Floating Horses by Barbara Weatherwax  This is an excellent resource to learn about 30 different breeds of gaited horses.  Barbara has a lot of experience and spent years studying gaited horses in order to produce this fabulous resource.

 

From The Horse’s Mouth by Eugene Davis.  This book will put no doubt in your mind that soring does exist and it is a serious problem.  Written from the horses’ points of view, the book covers real events that have happened to the author and trusted friends of the author.  All of the stories are true—the names have been changes to protect the innocent so the guilty do not threaten them.  The book is available from most online bookstores.

The Horse That Wouldn’t Trot by Rose Miller A new book by Rose Miller, a woman who has been involved in the TWH industry since she was a child.  She has chronicled her experiences, including the horrible practice of soring, to educate and move the public to help make a change.

 

 

 

 

Walking With Friends by Maggie Moore  This book is a wonderful coffee-table book that showcases the natural Tennessee Walking Horse throughout the United States.  Maggie is a gifted photographer who has a very natural ability to capture the spirit and spectacular gaits of the TWH.

The Trail Rider  While this magazine has lots of information about all breeds of horses, they are adding more and more articles about gaited horses because of their increasing popularity on the trail.  Great for all levels of riders who want to learn more about trail riding and places to ride!
