BOOKS Easy-Gaited Horses by Lee Ziegler (When you click on the link, scroll down for information on the book.) This book focuses on the mechanics of the different types of gaits of gaited horse breeds and how to work with the different gaits. There are wonderful drawings and lesson plans to help you get the most out of your gaited horse. All of Lee’s methods are gimmick-free and easy to understand and put to good use.
The Fabulous Floating Horses by Barbara Weatherwax This is an excellent resource to learn about 30 different breeds of gaited horses. Barbara has a lot of experience and spent years studying gaited horses in order to produce this fabulous resource.
From The Horse’s Mouth by Eugene Davis. This book will put no doubt in your mind that soring does exist and it is a serious problem. Written from the horses’ points of view, the book covers real events that have happened to the author and trusted friends of the author. All of the stories are true—the names have been changes to protect the innocent so the guilty do not threaten them. The book is available from most online bookstores.
